I have a 180 gallon acrylic tank with freshwater fish, Glo Fish. It is gorgeous, BUT over time small spots develop that cloud the interior of the tank, and it looks horrible. I emptied all the fish and gravel recently and polished the interior of the tank, and it helped immensely, but you can still see lots of little white-ish spots if you look closely.

We have hard water where we live and I'm told that leads to calcium deposits. I have a filter for the water for water changes. I rarely use water conditioner when doing water changes.

You can see by the images attached the issue.

Any ideas short of me having to remove all fish and gravel over again and try to polish more often?

Thanks much.

First, welcome to R2R. May sound silly, but have you tried a Magic Eraser? Just make sure you get the Original Version with nothing added to it. It's worth a shot in my experience.

Hard water certainly can leave residue at the air/water interface, but I cannot really see how it would precipitate out as white spots under the water.

Yep! That's how I found this forum. No luck, at all, no matter how hard I scrub.

Use muriatic acid in a cheap spray bottle. Works great. Read up tho on how to properly use the muriatic acid
