My LFS has a copperband that I want to buy but I have a 4 stripe damsel that I’m pretty sure would kill it or beat the crap out of it. Could I keep it in the sump until I deal with the damsel?

I see a yellow tang in there too.
Yes and for that I apologize profusely. I’m not going to make excuses other than I’m 25 and in a power chair. The Lfs has a used 75 oceanic tank, would that be okay for the tang and the CBB?

Live Aquaria states the minimum is a 100 gallon. Copperbands require a 125 gallon on the same website.

I don’t know much about fish stocking limits, so I’ll let someone else answer.

Okay thank you for your time and consideration

The tang would probably be ok in the 75 for a year or so. CBB are finicky. Is it eating well? I would probably pass. That damsel will continue to be more aggressive over time. I would trade it in.

How big of tank for the tang forever? I know CBB are finicky I’ve kept them before successfully, I’ll probably pass they’re asking $100

There will be many answers for this. Probably a tank at least 6 feet. I don't remember how large a yellow tank will get, maybe 8-12"‽ Personally, I would want a standard 180 or 240. Tomini would be good for your 75.

that yellow tang may beat the crap out of a Cbb in such a small tank. They are petty notorious for not playing nice with CBB. They are both flat bodied fish. CCB should be added first and such.

Okay thank you all I’m going to pass
