I've got an orange branching Monti, probly forest fire that hasn't colored up completely, and a Metalic blue branching Monti. Also have a green Monti cap that bleached out a few months ago. It's alive again somehow and growing again. Also have an orange encrusting Monti that has been a slow grower but hardy.
They are definitely more finicky than birds nest, stylos or Pocci but not really bad like across. Seems like once they settle in to your tank they start really growing, the only one I had issues getting settled in was the orange branching Monti. Also had a setosa almost bleach out and stop half way, it's making a strong comeback tho. Not sure what causes it but when they aren't happy they go downhill quick it seems
Blue brancking monti-pics?

Here is a german blue digi. It grew well on the bottom of my new system. 16 months.

Does it look notably blue in person? I've noticed that most blue corals I've seen, whether SPS, zoas, etc, don't seem to pop much under a blue spectrum since everything is already kinda blue anyway. But maybe look more blue under a spectrum with whites in it?

That tank was halides and 2 orphek blue.
The purple slimer from my 120

In my frag system after a few weeks.

Interesting how corals can both change their own color and be seen as different colors depending on the lighting. Are there any other "named" acros that have have been in the trade so long that they're as close as acros get to indestructible? I've known about Green Slimers ad Red Planet was a great rec that I'll keep in mind, but figured I should see if there were any more I should add to this very "beginner acro" list

I would say any encrusting monti... Don't know for sure what Death Spiral is, but mine is doing well in high phosphates. Not a monti but Pc Rainbow, acro, for one of your first. Encrusting 2 weeks after acquisition in a tank that was running .2-.3 phosphates. It's the most well adjusted beginner frag I have so far. I am amazed how the color can change. The green base is widening on mine but the branches are still a red yellow combo.

It grows under a wide variety of lighting intensities too. May look different, but I think you'd like it.

I've seen that Monti before, didn't realize it fell in the easy (easier?) category! Will definitely add it to the list. Any others, Monti or acro variety? Found surprisingly little while googling for specific strains so I appreciate you guys helping with this!

True Montipora confusa (not the green spongodes type) is very hardy and has an interesting texture. The Tubbs Montipora stellata is also hardy and unique.
