My local lfs is going out if business, so picking up an upgrade tank today. 50g 36x18x18 most likely. If they have a shallower tank around the same gallons might go that direction.

DT is currently 20g long and 10 gallon sump
300gph pump for return, an airstone skimmer, aquatop media reactor for gfo and carbon. Most nutrient removal is by macro algae.

Flow currently using 3 hydor nano 528, found they a rather weak, why there are 3. Suggestion for Pumps.

1). Fit the size and suitable for mixed reef(high flow for sps and some requiring softies)
2). Uses actual variable speed, not on and off to create varied flow.
3). Not super expensive, a vortex is just not in my budget lol.

Lighting
Using 1 galaxyhydro 165w at 30% white 100% actinic. To avoid light fall off in front or back, 1 more?

Return pump
Something relatively quiet and reliable.

Skimmer
Looking at
Simplicity
Sca
Eshopps
Bubble magnus
Etc.
~$200 range.
Looking for real world experience, did they last, easy to get customer service, ease of cleaning, and did they do what they said?

Heater
Was going to use 2 fluval 300w titanium as have had success with these in the past(5 year accurate life in planted) but open to suggestions.

Lid will be another cut piece of egg crate.

Tank will be predrilled so will be ditching my hob overflow.

Any other hardware suggestions are welcome as well.

Thank you in advance!

Also using jebao-4 dosing pump.

No tanks left, but got an eshopps x-160 skimmer so that was decided by availability. Might mean ill be doing a larger tank for the upgrade than planned lol. Also got 3 sps frags.

Pink pocilopora, a seriatopora, and an acropora that by the 3 hours i stood in line, forget what it looked like lol.

Thinking maybe an 80g frag tank? 48” is about the max on the space i have.
Along with a few odds and ends came to $222 with the skimmer

Hasnt opened a lot, but enough to say will be a colorful edition once i decide on a home. Placed the pocilopora a few inches from my other pocilopora.

Have to move things around before i place the seriatopora and acropora. All open spaces in the proper areas are too close to frogspawn. Will probably add more rock.

Made the frag rack out of some spare egg crate and suction cups.

So decided to try out the x-160 on current system. Day 4 stated getting a nice skimmate.
