What are some the best corals for beginners? Corals that you would almost have to try to kill for them to not survive.

Leather toadstools, zoas, mushrooms... I’d say most LPS are easy entry level corals. Just make sure to follow care instructions. Medium to low light, low flow.

Any of the leathers, Gsp, keyna trees and the always indestructible aptasia.

Personally I hate this topic. The easy to grow, not even an atomic bomb can stop, can and will take over your tank. The problem with them is that most are literal weeds in the reef and putting them in there without isolating on an island will become problematic when you know you’re stuff and want to try some harder corals. I’ve seen the “easy” ones grow OVER other corals. When you want to have an amazing looking reef but you have to toss all your rock and start over is a horrible feeling. Best to let your tank run it’s course and get stable, then try zoas/palys, mushrooms (although those also spread easily) or leathers. Once you have those down, go hammer/frogspawn/large lps, then smaller polyped lps, then some easy sps. You’ll figure it out as you go :) there isn’t a reefer alive who hasn’t lost a coral or two.

Appreciate this advice. Definitely a good thing to consider. I never really thought of easy being a weed, but that’s a pretty good comparison.
