Hi Everyone,

My QT tank just cycled and is ready to go after a few weeks. It is a bare bottom with no rock and a ton of Marine Pure balls. Cycled it with Turbo 900.

??? I have 3x tanks all with clownfish pairs, I am looking for my first cool looking compatible fish that is not a clown that will move after QT. The goal is to QT 2x Watchman Gobies, 1x Gumdrop Goby and some shrimp initially in batches. Once done then I will use for my Coral QT. The 3x tanks I have are a 13.5, 10 and a 5.

Thoughts? I dont believe Gobies are hardy enough to be the fist fish.

Was thinking maybe...
Scooter Blenny?
Cardinal?

What else?

Thanks T

Dont overstock.
A little confused- Are you looking for permanent residents for your QT tank or initial fish intended for display tank ?

He indicated a 13.5, 10 and 5 - so I'm assuming 2x clownfish in each, 2 more in the 13.5 and 1 more in the 10 (although I'm just guessing). 4/3/2 fish without any supplemental filtration (skimmer, refugium, etc.) is probably a good bioload for those sizes of tanks.

Exactly
13.5g - 2x Clowns, Watchman Goby, Shirmp + 1 more fish (Sons Tank)
5g - 2x baby clowns (Daughter Tank)
10g - 2x baby clowns, watchman goby & shrimp (Mine)

-Type of QT = Observation
-Plan to leave this fish till the end after the corals are all in so for a while.

I don’t wish to throw a wrinkle in here, but what are you planning for algae control on a 13.5 gallon. Water changes alone? Or, would something like a starry blenny or lawn mower blenny help you with caring for one of the tanks?

Sorry the tanks have a full CUC already but if you mean on the QT tank I didnt think about it beyond just water changes.

A lawnmower blenny would starve in a 13.5g. 40g is about the minimum and 75g is better

All of the goby’s mentioned here are 30 gallon minimum, but that really depends on the caregiver. I am not aware of the other species you have selected for care. Just trying to provide some ideas.
