They would be the smallest fish I have .. I have bigger tangs and angels already establishedMight be doable but I don't think it's advisable. The times I've had dwarf angels pair off they become incredibly aggressive. If you're successful getting a group of dwarf angles established you will need to be ready to rehome any and maybe all your other fish and you will need to be ready to rehome any angel that' s getting picked on by the others.
Was hoping maybe the bigger guys would keep them in check ?They would be the smallest fish I have .. I have bigger tangs and angels already established

How do you form a harem? Just buy them small and introduce them to the tank at the same time? The most flames I have had is three. My first harem the large male was only aggressive right before the spawn. My current harem my male is some what smaller and is not aggressive
I knew they would change from female to male, but first time I heard from male to female. Fascinating!!The first time I had a large male added a smaller female and it took about a week for them to pair. The male chased the female pretty hard till they paired. When I added the second female which was small they paired almost immediately. Years later disease ran through my tank and killed the male. I thought the larger female would become the male and pair with the smaller female instead she became male and killed the smaller female? My current harem I started with a smaller male but then found a slightly larger female. I added them to a 29 full of liverock and hiding places. They switched places which took several months. I then added them to my display and sometime later I added a small female that I received from a friend who is king on picking male and female flames.

So, male flames have pointier fins and usually over 4 bars but females fins are rounded off more and have a maximum of 4 bars, usually they have 3.I knew they would change from female to male, but first time I heard from male to female. Fascinating!!
Any advice on a 90g cube with a foot print of 30x30? It is loaded with rocks... you can say there is very limited swim space. This was done on purpose to keep angels and butterflies. Currently have a flame now, I don't know the sex though. The flame is still in quarantine as the tank just finished cycling.
