So I bought one about 2 weeks ago. Hasn't moved from a 6x6 area. Stays on glass most of the time and is a baby. Got him for astria stars and I do a better job picking em over it eating em. So how long does it take for 1 to eat a asteria. For what I can see looks like it's just sitting on the side of glass rubbing it's 2 front flaps 2gather. And seems 2 keep going back 2 the same spot on the glass. Maybe it's a coroline hotspot and asterias are drawn 2 it and it just waits but how long and for what I've researched they eat fast so just would like any info on em from any1 that has owned em or still does. Thanks

My harlequin before won't budge an inch when I first got him. I enticed him to hunt by giving him chocolate chip starfish to start him off. Once he starts eating them, he will devour them quickly

Ok so he moved 2 day and was on the opposite side on the sand then by the time I got my phone he was on a rock then gone. So I guess they have a 2-3 week getting used 2 new conditions 1st. So hopefully i find him in the area no corals are so I don't pick those as much so I know he's working

just feed him when all your astria stars are gone.
Ya I have a little bucket that I'm collecting em in right now. I'm just thinkn how trying 2 feed a shrimp like it a star that small. Haha impossible unless it acted like a peppermint but so far it's a shy guy.

He will hunt them down - no need to really "hand feed" him the Asterina stars.... Mine roams around the tank and even goes swimming and just floats around lol.. they are always on a constant hunt for food so he'll travel all over the tank...

I do want to note... that when i got my harlequin everyone kept saying they will only eat chocolate chip starfish and Asterinas... however, i put a linkia starfish in my tank the other day, it took him 2 days to actually jump on it and start eating it... so they will eat those as well. To keep him fed, i'm going to just get 1 or 2 a month and put them in my tank. If he eats them, great. If he doesn't, they look pretty and bright colors... when he get's too hungry, you best believe he will eat them lol. They're not going to starve themselves. Would you? ;)

A week ago I watched him go up on the glass 4 a star then down between rocks 2 eat in safety. So I know he's doing his job now as both see less and don't see him. But snapped this when I could.
