Harlequin Tusk - Reef?

I have 2 reef tanks that I take care of with harlequin tusks. They don't bother corals at all. Neither tank has shrimp, crabs, or small fish. One of the is peaceful, the other will chase tankmates, not too badly, just enough to show it's the boss.

I've had one and it was very peaceful with all the tank mates including cleaner shrimp and hermits.

I have the Australian and it gets along with all the other fish. It actually gets bullied by fish of similar sizes ( tangs and Angels) and doesn't bully any small fish. Doesn't bother corals or snails, hermits.. Overall good hardy reef fish to have. Only problem I have with it is Ich. He doesn't do well in tanks that have Ich and hard to build up his immune system to resist ich. I had to take him out two times for QT. It still in QT now...

Mine ate all the stomatella snails in the tank. And left my cleaner shrimp alone.I keeped him well feed though. Never touched the corals or my small clown fish.

I have one. Doesn't bother anyone.....seen him picking on hermits but not snails or shrimp. Actually gets bullied by other fish......no issue with ich even though it's in my though it's in my tank.

I had one for almost a year....ate all of my snails, crabs, and one clam. I expected all of that.....what I didn't expect was the aggression towards any new fish added. I finally decided to re-home him.

I have a 3" one in my tank, he tries to get hermits and snails but they usually hide in their shell before he can do anything. I assume once he gets larger he will have more luck :D

The one I had was perfectly fine with all the corals Even though I kept him well fed he ate and killed over 40 of my small fish I could not work out where my fish with disappearing to until one day I saw him swimming around with a green Chromis in his mouth , when trying to catch him and moving some rock around I was finding the pieces of fish everywhere Plus all my shrimp disappeared to. And this fish was only 4 inches at the time.

I recently added an undo one to my reef tank. It was 1/2 big tiny baby when I go I left all snails crabs and shrimp alone until it reached 1 1/2 long then ate all crabs and shrimp. And attacked and killed my 6 year old leopard wrass

I've had multiple harlequins over the years... each one has been different.. one liked smaller snails and another liked shrimp.. as a whole though.. they all have left hermits and larger snails alone..

None of them bothered any corals. As for fish, I had one that would get aggressive during feeding but the rest of time was a model citizen. The others have never been a problem..

I have an Australian Harlequin Tusk. He's maybe 4 to 5 inches long and has been in the tank for about 3 months. He gets along just fine with a young small Niger Trigger, a skeletor eel, brown California hare, snails, hermits, corals (mixed reef, zoas, cup, wilsoni, acan, monti) and so far a cleaner shrimp. He was actually rather shy at first and still hides for a moment if someone walks into the room quickly. Of course, all that could change.

I have one and its a good citizen just feed him twice a day at least with shrimp scalops etc etc real food and he be happy another thing is you have to have all the shrimps alreasy stablish anything new he is going to go for a quick meal
