I had a harelquin for a few years. It was the Australian type and spectacular to look at. It grew to about 8” before I had to rehome it. it will never bother corals. Shrimp will instantly be eaten. Mine ignored snails (at least I never saw him do anything to them). But as the harlequin grows it will eat any fish it can fit into its mouth - clown fish, anthias… any fish! And that it why I ended up parting with it.

Cyanide really seems to be most frequently used for fish in the following categories:

1. Larger species that are colorful and can get to “show” sizes. These are your large angels, wrasses, and I guess some Tangs too.

2. Smaller, cryptic species that are almost impossible to draw out of their habitats otherwise. Stuff like your Golden Angels, Colin’s Angels from Indonesia and the Philippines (along with susceptibility to maladies from deepwater collection), certain Basslets and Gobies, Mandarin Dragonets.

I would go CB always unless fish is clearly deformed.
