Pretty sure I know the answer, just wanted some info and input. I have a contact who offered me a great deal on a baby captive bred tusk. Now Im almost positive he isnt a good fit for my 125 six foot tank based on the stocking Im putting (mostly semi aggressive with eels in the mix), so Im not really asking for opinions on if I should get it, already decided no. However they are beautiful and very cool fish but I see a lot of different stuff about temperament. So I just have some questions (mostly when I can upgrade to a bigger tank that is)!

1) are they super aggressive?
2) what kinds of fish can go with them? I know tiny ones and shrimp and stuff is a no no, doesnt bother me I keep triggers.
3) minimum tank size?
4) how fast do they grow?
5) reef safe? As far as not eating coral, I know it will eat inverts
6) I know its technically a wrasse, but it seems to have more requirements of a trigger from what Ive seen, am I correct?

Thanks guys and just to say again Im not getting this fish for my current tank, I know it isnt a good fit just like to learn and this seems like a very interesting fish I want to learn more about and who knows maybe down the road one would be a good fit for a bigger tank!

They apparently range from d*uchebags to model citizens, lol. Gorgeous fish, though.
Yeah that seems to be the general consensus which is why I was asking here lol for people who have them not these rando articles that say they are both!!

I’ve kept several in the past 15 yrs. The latest one lasted about 5 years in my 560g FOWLR. It can be aggressive to small fish and reef wrasses. It will eat all the inverts but won’t touch any corals. It can be bullied by angels and tangs. It can get up to 8” long.

The folks I've talked to indicate theirs have leaned towards model citizens (albeit not with small fish or inverts).
