Harvesting Gracilaria

Hello, I bought some red gracilaria yesterday. I’m wondering, how do I prevent it from “going sexual?” How do I cut it, when it grows enough, so that it doesn’t do that? I have it in my display.

Regardless, how would you suggest I remove some when it grows too big? Just cut branches with scissors? Or will that hurt it?

You can just tear it. It won't cause any harm.
