Has Alk Hanna Checker Failed?

Has anyone experienced a Hanna that reported a "BAD BATTERY" error? I tried several new batteries of different brands. When one finally "worked", the dKH Hanna Checker reported an abnormally high alkalinity over 1 dKH higher than the previous day.

Has the Hanna Checker failed?

Maybe it’s only yours, Hanna is pretty solid overall.

I would check the spring contact for the battery. Mine was dead despite the new batteries i was trying. Turned out the spring contact had been pushed aside and wasnt making contact with the battery. Kinda struck me as a cheesy mechanical design after I cracked the unit open to fix it, but after the adjustment it’s been working just fine.
