Has anyone attempted outside DIY RODI housing?

I will be relocating my RODI unit outside and was curious if anyone has attempted to build a small housing to keep the plastic from weathering. I live in a zone that doesnt freeze so heat/sun would be my major concern. I was thinking of a simple horizontal 2x4 to mount the equipment and an angled board above for shade and water runoff. I would appreciate pictures or lessons learned anyone has on the topic. THANKS in advance!

No reason why that won't work. You could do the top and enclose the sides as well if you want. Real easy plywood enclosure to make

I have mounted my ro buddie setup outside, in patio. It’s mostly ok, I think the di resin block gets bad sooner in this setup (sunlight ??? )

Kind of, we have a cover, so it does not get direct sun light all the time (except in the first our of the morning), but its outdoor, without any walls on any side
