Has anyone done a DIY Tunze Y adapter?

Looking to see if anyone has ever undertaken a DIY project of making a Tunze Y adapter? I'm in need of one for an older smaller controller and frag tank for a couple of 6055's I have lying around. I just don't feel like paying what the going rate is for one. Would like to see if there is an alternative.
