Hello all,

Just purchased a Vectra M1 and before installing I'd like to put some sort of screen on the inlet. This should have been included with the Vectra, so definitely a big fail on Ecotechs part.

That being said from what I understand the Screen and Barb kit absolutely sucks, has to be trimmed and glued to be put on, etc etc..

I'm wondering if anyone has done a DIY screen? Post some shots/details! How often do you replace the filter, how do you like it, and so forth.

What screen kit are you talking about? I bought the screen from bulk reef supply and its awesome?

The screen part is plug and play (and yes should have been included). Can't say about the barb part because I didn't use it (hard plumbed).

I agree, absolutely should have been included and its expensive. I did not have to trim anything. Friction fit right into the opening. I have an L1 by the way.

Its a joke that you need to buy the barb and strainer kit really given the price or the pump. Its not really about the extra cost of it. Its just penny pinching on ecotechs part really. Waiting on delivery of mine before i can setup my M1
