Tin: 421 ppb 1000x what it should be

I'm shook. Just did a 30% water change and ordered some cuprisorb.

No clue where to begin after this. No obvious metal in the tank other than pumps.

Copper and aluminum are elevated as well, but not as bad.

Is there anything else to do?

Alright, first things first.

Does everything in the tank look normal and okay?

For the most part, yes. Maybe a bit extra green in some of my acros, but it's all alive and growing, polyps open.

I'm not thinking about anything drastic since that always bites me in the butt. Water changes and cuprisorb are the plan...

Something is wrong here though. A number like this sounds almost purposeful. As if I were dosing tin

Well, if everything in the tank looks good, then I would only make changes slowly. So, your tin is high. So what? I'm not even sure cuprisorb is effective at tin removal. Maybe a fairly large water change is in order along with a retest??

I'm not 100% sure either, but it will definitely help with the copper and aluminum. Some people say it helps with tin, but I haven't seen any hard evidence.

I did a 30% water change to say. Maybe I'll do another tomorrow, and just start doing them weekly from here out. I personally haven't been an advocate for water changes and was aware that something like this could occur, but I could see something like this being a sleeper cause for what people call old tank syndrome.

I'll definitely be retesting within the next few weeks.

If all the tank inhabitants looks okay, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Okay, I try not to over worry about it.. As long as it's not increasing. I really wish I wasn't going go need go retest with icp, those things are darn expensive

The huge problem with ICP testing is it says nothing about the form of trace metals present. Some are far more toxic than others for the same element. It may also be a test error.
