I have a flame angle that is making my SPS look like CRAP! and nipping at my clams! ( i know, i know, i was warned)..He is a pain to catch..Im at the point were i wanna just kill the fish and get rid of it....I just dont feel like ripping 1/2 my tank appart to catch a $60 fish

You can easily catch him with one of those really tiny barbless hooks and line. It will not harm him. You just have to be careful not to catch the wrong fish. It literally take a matter of seconds! LOL!

I am very serious! Me and my buddy caught a foxface in a matter of seconds! Removed the hook and from what I know the fish is still alive and well after almost a year or more I would say. We just had to pull the hook away when other fish came to bite it.

Oh yea since then he has done this again.

Someone used clove oil to catch a trigger fish. I wish I could find the post. Instead of dosing the entire tank which could have adverse effects on smaller fish and coral the guy used a baster. He made a small mixture sucked it up into a baster then blew it at the fish where it always hid in the same rock. He just pulled the fish out by the tail and put it in a QT tank. Said the fish came to a second after he dropped it into the QT tank.

Clove oil? what did it do, knock the fish out for a while? Any bad effects afterwords?

I have also used a hook to catch a fish in the tank. It took me a little while, but I finally got that damsel.....

Try using a trap and put a small mirror in it. It may take a day but sometimes as short as 10min. Get as big mirror butt can fit in the trap.

ya, I have fished for a blue hippo before and it works. I also like the big clear acrylic catch boxes, they work well. If you were by orlando, i'd say you could borough mine

Or what you can do is watch where he sleep as night, get him in the wee hours in the morning when it's dark, use a RED light to find him, then just scoop him out. I've done that to a fox face, tangs, 6line wrasse, Mystery, etc......
