Has anyone had and Reef Tank Catastrophes?

I lost power for 12hrs last week. My wife has a little power block called Halo. It ran my return pump. House was 55, tank was 68. It's new with only 1 fish so everything was fine
 
Lost all fish in a very odd event.

So I had a fish only aquarium at work in my office. As a dentist, I find that it helps keep kids calm and distracted. Well one day after putting my new baby clownfish in the tank, the filter gets clogged with a rock (hang on the back filter). The tank gets NASTY overnight but luckily no fish were lost. Thank heavens.

I didn't want this to happen again so I buy the best Australian HOB filter money can buy. I buy THE AQUASCUM 2003!! This bad boy had all the bells and whistles. It even had a built in sterilizer.

Well let me tell you, money not well spent.

So my niece is coming to get her new clownfish and I go to net him and all the fish jump IN THE NET!!! I've been in this hobby a long time and I will tell you I've spent hours trying to catch ONE fish.

The group of fish won the first battle but luckily I had another net handy and immediately caught the little clownfish right away.

Well I bagged up the little guy right as my niece got to the office. She sits down and gets the little guy and started shaking the bag! The fish in the tank go crazy. One jumped out and is flopping on her head, a pelican some how gets through my office window and is flying erratically, the clownfish bag breaks, and the clownfish goes down my spit sink. The animals all went mad!

After this traumatizing experience I bag all this fish and crustaceans up, go grab a quick lunch, and come back to all the bags gone! They either vanished or rolled out my office window back into the big ol blue.

This is how I lost all my fish in one afternoon.

I had every fish in my tank die within a two hour span. They went from seemingly healthy to all dead in 2 hours. I've came to the conclusion that it must have been a lack of oxygen.

Nothing catastrophic in relation to bad weather though.
