Has anyone not had a single bad experience in reefing?

So I'm 5 years in and I've been pretty lucky. I've lost a fish here and there and had a coral die but nothing major until a couple of months ago. In early Oct I had velvet wipe out my livestock in a week. Every fish died, there was nothing I could do. Then a few weeks ago I noticed my acropora looking strange. I took one out and dipped it and acro flatworms started falling off like it was snowing! So now I have a fallow tank with no fish and my acro (I have like 15 colonies) are all being treated for the flatworms I found on them.

Have any of you that have been in this hobby for a long period of time been able to maintain your reef without a big issue? Without a power failure killing your livestock? Without a heater breaking and cooking your tank? Without disease? Without your kid feeding your tank and entire bottle of windex? lol

I doubt there are many if any....

Believe we all have our small incidents here and there, yet my tank is running since 1998 with a couple of upgrades since then. IT even ran for 3 years with me relocating to Dubai where my sister and father took care of it. I travel 2-3 times a month (1 week travel each time) since 2005 and so far have never had a tank wipe out or a crash related to me not being there. Got to admit the wife is doing a great effor to inform me if she notices anything wrong.

I had brown jelly take out most of my euphyllia.

Just has aefw wipe out about 30 frags/colonies that I had been growing for 1.5 years. All acros have been removed for 1.5 months and I plan to rebuild my collection in January.

Past Day 1...... lol

I've certainly had my share over past 32+ years, though technically have never had a 'Full Blown Crash'. Very close a few times, even quite recently with a Frag Tank plumbing disaster emptying around 37 gallons of SW onto the floor and running sump/fuge dry for a day. One more day of Vacation would have been ......................... don't want to even imagine it.

Man everyone has problems. I help a lot of Local club members and so I see my share but I always learn something from mine and others mistakes. It's part of the hobby.

Hmm...I would say anyone who stays in the hobby long enough to really learn the ropes has had some kind of at least semi-major difficulty to overcome.
