wondering if anyone has switched out there sump for aftermarket? i have a rsr 450, i purchased a pnp crystal sea aquatics and i have ZERO mech filtration. kind of driving me a little crazy. planned on triton but a year and a baby later it taking a little bit to get off the ground.

so many particulates in water column would love a sump that i can put a roller mat in or filter sock. qt least temporarily looking at trigger models.

Im sure it could be done just need to find one to fit in the stand...
But heres a bump for other redsea owners.

Your sump is a Triton sump, a nice one at that! Triton doesn't use filter socks - have you thought about going with a non-Triton?

couple options: synergy reef, trigger systems, bash sea (early black Friday sale in progress). Personally i went with Synergy, impressive sump!

I switched out mine for a Trigger Triton, and couldn't be happier.

This was my solution -

Keep in mind the water from the tank into the refugium is not mechanically filtered. I have the tray right before the skimmer section.

I'm confused why you can't install a Clarisea in the standard Reefer 450 sump. I did it in my 750XXL sump and don't see why the install would be much different in the 450 I used to have. Just plumb the pipes a little differently.

ok i see the magnet idea... like it. wonder is it would be possible to go a step further and make a bracket to hold one of the small socks.
@gobble LOVE the idea for a clarisea. that would be so freakin mint. o will research further
