So I was spotlighting tonight in the reef tank, looking a weird night crawlers when I saw one of my hermits at the top of rock pumping its shell. Interested, I stopped to watch. All of a sudden an outpouring of pod like wrigglers come out of the shell. At first I though the crab was getting attached when it dawned on me that it may be releasing young. When it stopped pumping the shell, the pods stopped coming out and it went on it’s way. Here’s a similar thing I found on YouTube.
Did I see what I think I saw? Is it common? Will any survive? Just curious.
