I know it is not the Singapore. Has anyone seen or kept one of these before? Are they easy? Reef safe? Very aggressive? Thinking of adding one with a Genicanthus angel but not sure how well they are going to play.

I think it looks simple but quite cute. I like the cute fish. I think Ocellaris Clowns, Flame Hawkfish, One Spot Foxface, Genicanthus angels, Tangs, very cute.

I have seen them for sale here in US but that's all I can say....I'm not big into angels.

I've seen them for sale but they aren't as striking as other apolemicthys angels, so are not often kept.
They will likely nip at your corals but the amount of damage they do is down to the individual, with some being ok and others completely destructive.

All these angels can be aggressive but the only fish on your list that is more likely to be bullied is the genicanthus.

Do you foresee a lot of trouble between the two angels? Even if the Genicanthus is already well-established by then?

If I include this angel with a Genicanthus, here’s what my stocking order will look like:

1. One Spot Foxface + Clown pair

2. Marine Betta

3. Genicanthus spp. + basslet

4. Flame Hawk pair

5. Bristletooth tang

6. Xanthurus Cream

Not reef safe and hard to source a healthy one sometimes. Stick with easy fish if your a beginner.

The reason I am asking is because I heard two Genicanthus angels of different species might fight, and I’m not sure if I can get a pair of one species as getting males can be a problem. So I am looking at this angel as a backup, because I would ideally have two angels in my 155-gallon setup.

I got one off Liveaquaria 6 months ago. There is no such thing as a reef safe angel. You're either ok with them nipping at a coral/nem/clam once in a while or you're not.

How are you finding the fish in terms of its care and durability? Is it aggressive?

I thought Genicanthus angels are completely Reef safe?

My tank will only have mushrooms and leathers.

It's like a little tank. He ate right away, loves spectrum pellets and nori. He chases my other Angels and they chase him (Potter's angel, scribbled angel, Caribbean Queen Angel, Majestic Angel, Chrysurus Angel). He's not aggressive to other species. My tomato clowns beat up on him a lot. He likes to eat around their nem. I've seen him nip my ritteri nem. If you don't want a fish nipping your corals or inverts then don't get angels. It's just something you have to live with. As long as you keep them well fed they're not going to kill anything, but that doesn't mean they're not going to nip occasionally.

Eh I’m willing to take at least some risk or else I would write angels off completely lol. Sounds good, sounds hopeful. I heard they’re among the toughest angels, and these larger angels may well be tougher than Centropyges.

It's is more long term troubles as angels can get more dominant as they age. If you have fish that can stick up for themselves then it is less of an issue but it's only a guess as to whether they would be fine. Tbh I would rather give two genicanthus a go as they are generally far more peaceful than the xanthurus.

Personally if you are really wanting an angel and don't mind the odd nipped coral every so often, I'd go for a dwarf angel like a flame or coral beauty.
