Has anyone used coral plug with smooth surface?

I tried coral plugs with different surface roughness and accidentally found that the tissue of SPS propogate fast on smooth surface. Did anyone try it before?

My experience is different coral grow faster on certain types - but its impossible to make a generalization that one Is better or worse

I would agree coral "taking" to a plug has more to do with tank conditions than the plug itself
