hello again,

so i'm 16 days into my cycle and am not sure whether it's nearing its end or what.
ammonia is processed from 1.5 to 0.5 in 24 hours using salifert nh3+nh4 (ive read that salifert maxes out at 1.5 so levels could be a bit higher)
nitrites 0
nitrates between 1 and 2 ppm, rising very slowly
what do you guys think?

Be patient with it. Wait it out and test again in a few days. Add something new into the tank and see how it does. Nothing expensive.
how are you long the tank?

alright thanks for the advice, i purchased a piece of live rock online and i'll add that to the tank before i put any cuc or fish just to be safe. i'm 16 days in using dry rock and the dead shrimp method

just Be careful adding that live rock to the tank. Could have some hitchhickers on them. I’ve always started a new thank with dry rock, ammonia, and bacteria. Even if you inspect the rock, you might get something You don’t want.

yeah the seller has actually cured the rock before selling it so i'm pretty confident in adding the rock but i'll inspect it further. thanks for the heads up
