Sometimes in the hobby, we as reefers have to come up with DIY solutions to solve problems that may arise. Maybe it is making a DIY light mount or making some DIY fish feeder that helps feed those picky fish. I am wondering what is some effective DIY solutions you have come up with. Curious to see what everyone says!

I’m still at the point where getting equipment to work is a big achievement lol! But I have DIYd a large frag rack and am pretty chuffed with myself automating the emptying of my skimmer cup with a versa pump and little wins like that so I can still take holidays

I did design and print a holder for my noopsyche k7mini which I'm very proud haha

This plenum for my next jaubert system was also design and printed by me

And lastly this manual dosing system. But this I copied from a YT video lol
Once I finished it I had to move overseas and i could not experience much the system but it was cool anyway.

That dosing system is really neat!

I built some jawfish burrows out of PVC elbow + T joint + endcap and buried it under the sand

One of my jawfish moved right in and loves it

The other one just does its own thing

I like me some DIY! Most recently I made a custom light mount for my Kessils and I made what I call a "filter sock flow diverter". . . I don't have a great picture but it's a tube that connects to the sock holder and forces the water to flow down and to the right. This forces more water over my media and macro algae instead of directly to the return pump (at least that is the theory). Here is an artistic rendering and some photos that don't really show anything haha:
