Bubble algae is just one of those pests i cant get out of the tank. Emerald crabs never touch it. The tangs will eat the pieces they can reach but they cant get into tight spaces. Ive seen some good results with vibrant but ive heard some horror stories with it hurting sps as well. So please vote if youve had any experience with vibrant vs bubble algae.

yes, no issue, worked for me, but I’d say just remove the rock with bubble algae if it’s a small tank or if it’s concentrated. Never seen bubble algae after I removed the infected rock and replaced with other live rock

Cant, its too much rock. Its been in the tank for years and im not taking down the whole rock scape.

Foxface and emerald crabs will eat bubble algae and I trust neither
Vibrant has also worked for me.

Pitho crabs cleared out the little bit I had.

I'm currently using vibrant to beat bubble algae. It's been a slow but steady effect, still going and not all bubble algae is gone yet. I have a ton of acros that are fine, but have a rainbow monti that has suffered. Admittedly, I also started dosing some strontium around the same time based on an ICP test result, only to find out at the next ICP that home test kits for strontium are garbage and I had overdosed. So can't say for sure which was responsible for any upset coral, but can say the bubble algae is slowly disappearing.

Oh and red cyano has popped up since, which seems to be par for the course...
Good luck!

Ha, we're all responding to a 2 month old thread. His bubble algae will be long gone by now (hopefully)
Unfortunately its not and im on 7 or 8 weeks of vibrant. It has definitely affected the bubble algae but it hasnt died off yet. So im hoping a few more weeks and itll die off.

Ive been using it for 2 months. It cleaned up everything else. I have found a bubble or two so yes and no for how good it works. it is not spreading or growing any since using it.

So 30 years experience, with bubble algae, usually clean water solves it quicker than anything else. Fluconazole works pretty well. Usually staying on top of water changes gets rid of it fully.

On a quick aside, how do you like the Mach-E
Love it, it's my first EV and have 7k miles on it so far. Can't believe I used to go to a gas station every 4 days to fill for $80, now $80 worth of charge gets me 1 month of commuting.

Was in the same spot, pulled the rocks I could but to get all of them would have been a tear down. I used the recommends amount and did 20% water changes every 10-15 days on a 35gal tank. Saw the bubbles losing color after about 2-3 weeks. I'm 3 months in and 95% of it's gone.
Overall I'd say it's a good product.

I think im gonna give these guys a try. Emerald crabs didnt help, but im always down to try new critters and i like having invert diversity

They're very active and hard workers. I've been very impressed at how much utility they bring. They eat a wide variety of algae. If they aren't eating they're sifting through the sand and rocks releasing detritus. They are decorator crabs. Today was the first day I noticed one had fragged a single paly polyp to decorate himself with. I've seen them decorate themselves with sand, sponges, cyano, GHA, and even a bristle worm. Just a fair warning.

I tried vibrant and it didn’t work and honestly I noticed the bubble algea but didn’t take action quick enough and no it got way out of hand. I got a set of cheap dental tools off Amazon and went to town. Maybe 1% came back in about 2 months and I took action quickly and I have since been trouble free. Also I added like 5 emerald crabs and I’m not sure they did anything. But they are cleaning the rock - just not the bubble algae lol.

I had success with Dr Tims program refresh and waste away combo
