Hi all,
I have seen several of the feeders where you hatch the shrimp elsewhere then move them to a feeder in the tank. I was wondering why not just hatch them in the tank?
I have heard that the eggs can have hydroid cysts or other contaminants, so I would use the decapsulated ones. Then put together a piece of pvc with end caps, mount it vertically, add a clear tube coming out the middle. In theory the eggs would fall or rise, and the BBS would swim out the tube towards the light.
One reason for it would be a weekend feeder of sorts. Fill it up and they should pop out for a couple of days. Then clean and repeat.
I have not seen this approach on any posts, is it a bad idea?
