so I had a crash in January got rid of everything started a new upgrade my lights two LEDs plus T5's and after a week of having my LEDs this started showing up I figured it was just and algae blooms due to the new life but it's now been 2 months and I can't get rid of it.for 2 weeks now I use chemiclean 2 times a week I've tried vodka dosing cuz I did put new rocks in assuming the phosphates were up also the used phosguard. I've killed the lights for about a week and it did lighten up and go away within 3 days of my life being back on it was back I've upgraded my clean up crew to about five crabs in three snails in a 55 gallon. at this point turn my lights off for a week was the best thing that showed of the most significant change but what else can I do to make sure it does not come back. sorry for spelling errors and or if some of this doesn't make sense I'm using speech to text at work cuz I'm in a hurry but this is killing me

I recently took out a bunch of small rock in my sump tank because I am turning my hospital 20 gallon long into a nano for the time being

It could be diatoms or dinoflagellates. If it gets air bubbles and snotty looking by the end of day it is likely dinos. If not, it is probably diatoms.

not slimy and no bubbles it's just a brown on all my sand little specs of brown everywhere. I thought diatoms but it won't die. Water changes chemiclean, vodka, phosgard ugh. Its killing me.

Looks like diatoms to me. I had it, but I stirred the sand with my hand to move and bury it everyday, and my nass snails and hermits were picking at it. It only lasted a few weeks in my tank.

thanks I have not started it yet I was assuming it would spread but I'll pick up some more crabs and snails kill the lights and sister and siphon my sand
