Ok, I personally don’t think it’s a bristle worm due to the lack of bristles and it’s shape. I found it “swimming “ during my before bed inspection. (Come on we all do it!) It would swim for a bit then float in a circle,swim, float, you get the idea. Just wondering what you might think it is? And yes I removed it just in case.

Without a good look at the head I'm going with a bristle worm. Could be a bobit but I can get a good look at the head with that pic.

How can you sleep when there is a tank in the house to look into? 
I don't know the worm id either. Keep it right there until someone gives you a positive ID. I can't hurt much in that glass.
