Got this about 6 months ago and it was more wide open and looked healthier. Now it’s not dead but shrinking for sure. I had it higher in the tank and recently moved it down just a bit. Should I put it back higher and increase lighting. Thoughts? All parameter are good. Can’t really understand why one or two just don’t do well

Can’t help too much without parameters being posted but softies are sensitive to flow and lighting. They also like some nitrates so if your low they won’t grow as fast.

So do they like extra flow and light?

Low flow low to moderate light.

but just some food for thought: I have two of these - one low light and low flow - opened up big and tall

I have another I have high flow and high light as a test-and it stays short but gets really fat and wide. It looks like a different coral-

both have been in there current spot for almost a year- both are healthy and doing well- but based on flow and light they both open up differently.

just food for thought.

they were same size and looked identical when I got them about 9 months ago. they were both about as round as a pencil and about an inch tall
