Have few questions hope someone can help

So I have a 13.5 nano tank...almost 9 months old...so I have to dose alk ever day like .03 ml so I have been doing it with a syring.. so I set up a diy dip system out of a mason jar did a test the dip will last about a week..so question is can I do a week worth of alk in the jar an rest with saltwater. An let that dip for the week so I don't have to dose ever morning... Think it would cause problems or think it will be fine any help will help not tryin to kill an corals or hurt anything.just though it would help with fluctuate of the all level..my alk runs 8.6-9

What are your other parameters? Something is eating alk. that you are having to dose every day in a small tank.

Honestly, why not just use all-for-reef and a dosing pump (or other supplement, or kalkwasser in your ATO container?

I think a dumb little Wi-Fi enabled dosing pump is under $100- and it has two heads.

I have looked into dosing set up. But was just tryin save some money why I looked into the drip way I guess. An only dose cal really once in while why I haven't gone the kalkwasser way

Neat little tank. 9+ months is a long time. I hear you on trying to save money. I see a nice mix of corals but nothing screams Alk-hog to me.

I’d make sure my testing was accurate (take your water to a LFS for a test).

Honestly, if you want to dose, get a dosing pump. Losing all that hard work and time isn’t worth saving $50. But if that’s not in the cards, how about a gallon water change a week or so to keep things in line.

lastly- I wouldn’t even test if I had your tank if I’m being honest. I’d just do water changes and if things looked happy, be happy. If things looked off- bigger water change. No sadness, leave it alone. My 10g, it’s a couple years old. I did a water change like 6 months ago. I don’t think I have ever tested for anything in it.

That crazy lol..I do a water change about 3 gal a week an man I test alk every nite about an mag an cal ever few days.an have a pH prob so I have that on check every day an double check that ever few week.. these is my 1st salt tank an everything I have read say test test test so real that why be I know my alk will drop if I don't dose.

.03mL is a very small volume, what supplement are you using? To answer your original Q, an alkalinity solution doesn’t go bad, so you can leave it for a week absolutely. Not sure if I’m interpreting this correctly, but you don’t want to mix it with saltwater, as dripping SW into your tank will gradually increase your salinity over time. If you wish to dilute your solution, use fresh RO/DI.

Yea wasn't think but ro/di better idea them saltwater... supplements that I dose lil ammo acids in morning with alk..an AB+ 2 ml every other day..an reef roids to the corals 2 time a week
