Have filter roller and skimmer in the same chamber possible?

I’m waiting for my WB Frag 105.4 to come and decided to go with filter roller instead of filter socks before getting my sump wet. I read on this group that removing the filter socks holder and moving the first baffle is required to fit a Clarisea.

Is there any downside of having Clarisea in the skimmer chamber and not modify the sump? I was going to hard plumb the main drain line to go to the skimmer chamber and have both Clarisea and skimmer in the same area.

I’m sure I’m not the first one to though about this but couldn’t find the answer. Thanks!

Take a look at my mod in Waterbox 130.4 sump. I made room for Calrisea in the first chamber. It took me a couple of days but I recommend it, otherwise, you are wasting all that space.
