Hello All,

I'm just wondering if my tank really has cycled this quickly using Dr. Tim's One and Only.

Here is a time line of events:

Feb 4th - 90 gal Seaclear System 2 tank setup with base rock, crushed coral
Feb 6th - Added 10 lbs of live rock to the tank with 8oz of Dr. Tim's One and Only
Feb 7th - Added 2 Ocellaris Clown fish
Feb 10th - 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, pH 8.3
Feb 12th - 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, pH 8.3

I have been feeding the fish twice daily, flake in the morning and 1/4 cube brine shrimp at night.

Do you think it has finished cycling?

I've never used Dr Tims.

I would test for nitrates. If nitrates are zero I would say your cycle is not over.

Once you are getting nitrates with zero ammonia and nitrites, your cycle may be over.

To be safe, I would wait a couple weeks and test.

Depends on how much ammonia your tank can convert to nitrite to "nitrate"
That's a question you ask before adding fish, but ya it's cycled

I usually do a "Fish-less" cycle. Add Dr. Tims and "Feed The Invisible Fish" & it usually takes about a month or so to fully cycle & have enough beneficial bacteria to handle adding 1 fish. But based on your test results it seems as though the tank is cycled. Though I still recommend testing the water day or every other day to keep track. You never know!

As long as your Trates are under 40, and your Ammonia and Nitrites are 0, your safe. To get the Nitrates down even further, I'd perform a water change.
