Hello,
Many apologies if I have set this thread up in the wrong forum, but wasn't sure where it should go!!1

A couple of months ago I found something in my tank which looked like a slug. It was about 2 inches long and I posted a few photos to ask if anyone could identify it. I didn't get any replies and I hadn't seen the little chap again until just now.

He's now grown and is about 4 inches long when fully extended and the only thing I can think of is that I have a dwarf Sea Hare in my tank. I didn't put him in there so I'm assuming he came in on the live rock when I set my tank up (again) early in September.
I'd really appreciate it if someone could look at my new photos and confirm that's in fact what I have here. Many thanks in anticipation. Suzzie.

I've just been informed by someone on another forum that I do, in fact, have a Sea Hare. I think that's pretty amazing as I definitely didn't consciously put one in my tank.

Guess I'm going to have to reserve some algae for him else he'll starve.

Looks exactly like mine Suzzie. Mine is about 10" when stretched out like that. However, I must say he/she is very gentle on the rock work and corals. I paid $40 US with the overnight shipping :)

Many thanks for your replies JMLewis, Lionfish Liar and Bryce.

My Sea Hare must have come in on the live rock as I haven't purchased him!

I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks - but he'd disappeared for about 8 weeks before then re-emerged in perfect health.
Thanks, Suzzie

yeah I had one with the rock work eventually out grew my tank and had to get him out :) at first mine ate so much algae I came home and there was poop everywhere literally but the rocks were really clean :) good luck with him as they have a veracious appetite

Thanks JadeM.
Mine's only tiny at the moment. I haven't seen him since before Christmas but have no reason to think he's died. Suzzie

yeah ine went for a bit gave up on it then re-appeared and was bigger than ever :)
