I noticed vermetid snails as well as bubble algae on my two turbo snails. Well, both had vermetids but one had bubble algae as well. So i took out one, and smashed the vermetids before dropping it back into the tank. With the other one, after smashing the vermetids, i drizzled some tap water over the top of the shell while removing the bubble algae. (The algae was at the tip). I think i might have gotten tap water onto the body itself though, but just a bit. I then dropped it straight back into the tank.

Has this done any harm to them?

If you just drizzled some tap over it should be okay, but I’ve noticed some cuc’s are very finicky. Did you acclimate to tank initially?

No harm done. I have taken snails out and scrubbed algae off. Rinsed with some RODI and then spot treated the shell with peroxide.

I make sure not to get peroxide anywhere but the shell, but water is fine if it gets on the body. It’s also good to have some saltwater in a cup near the sink so after the freshwater rinse you can dip in saltwater.

I put them back in the tank and they always do well.

Thanks everyone!
