i am new to this hobby and need some help on whether putting this coral at an angle on the rock has made it split open , and should i remove it from my tank ?

Most likely lack of high flow has caused detritus to settle on the cap and now it's starting to rot.
Best advice frag the good parts rubberband to rubble til they attach. And up the flow.

Agree with what's said above that's definitely necrosis of some sort, lobophytum is pretty hardy generally but they do this time to time, in addition to fragging, I'd perform a lugols dip on the new frags before placing them back in the tank.

thank you everyone for your advice , i ve never fragged before, here comes another learning lesson with this great hobby !!

Hi, probably YouTube! Is normally good to show how to frag, good luck
