The head of my hammer came off and is thriving next to my mushroom. It has been like this for the last 3 weeks. Looks to be happy separated. What should I do?

Polyp bailout. Usually in response to something it really doesn't like. It can happen without damaging the flesh of the polyp and it can live freely for a while. They usually won't settle back out but they have the ability to reattach and regrow their skeleton on hard surfaces. Try your best to make sure that it doesn't get damaged in any way, and that it's still getting the light it needs. In most systems when this happens they'll get lost or damaged. Hopefully it pulls through for you.

Hmm, interesting. Ive seen this before on some threads that here and there will pop up. If it looks healthy just leave it. Could potentially regrow a skeleton, or die off. Hope for the best bud!
