We have six green chromis, a foxface, and a Kole tang in a 300 gal tank. We wanted another schooling fish. We decided to get lyretail anthias. The store had three, we hope to have six. The three have been in our quarantine tank for a month. All were female, but one appears to be changing into a male. We had hoped to add the additional fish relatively quickly, but the store has not been able to get more. Do you think that we can add more and still have them all get along? Should we add the additional, if we ever get them, to the quarantine tank with the original and add then all of them to the display at the same time? Appreciate your thoughts.

As long as you go all female and about the same size you should be fine. I went through the same thing and had no issue adding more to the school.

Add only females and get at least as many as you already have to diffuse any hierarchical aggression.
