I work night shift, so I'm always tired, but the past couple of weeks have been completely exhausting. Tonight as I was reheating some leftovers, I made a fatal mistake. My container of grated parmesan cheese is green. It sits right next to my bottle of phyto. I think you see where this is going. To make a long story short, I just dumped a hearty helping of phyto over my made-from-scratch spaghetti instead of parm. Heartbreaking! Being tired and not wanting to have to whip up anything else, I gave it a quick sniff to see if I could still choke it down, and that's a hard no. Looks like cereal and scrambled eggs for dinner tonight!

To make me feel better about ruining the most delicious spaghetti ever, have you ever done something incredible headsmackingly stupid when tired?

Lol, yep. Been there done that. Lol

When I did graveyard shifts I did my fair share of stupid and silly mistakes.

I once even fell a sleep on the train on the way home. Got on the train at 715am and woke up at 1:15pm.

Luckily nobody stole my back pack.

Back when working stupid early or late shift I feel asleep on the last train to nyc for work and ended up at the “yard” Missed my shift and spent more than I would have made getting home

Oh, noooo! I can't imagine having to take a train after working all night. I'm lucky enough to live a 10min drive from work. At least, it's lucky until somebody calls in and the bosses know I live close by....

Ever try to eat soup with a fork? Almost 48 hours with no sleep ;)

Yup...been there :) Let me see the stupidity on my part...

More memorable - part of a large military exercise in Okinawa, Japan. I'm Air Force. One of our birds ended up on the Navy side of the base, no idea why. Anyway tempo, hours, etc, we head over to disarm her so the maintenance guys could do their work on the radar. Simulated attack so we have to dawn chem gear. Summer, nights, still hot, humid, a nice Navy lad yells down at us hunkering down for cover if we want to board his P3-Orion and ride out the attack - chem suit free. Sounds too good to be true. We yell, heck yeah and off we go. One thing lead to another and I soon fell asleep.

I'm pretty sure you can see where this ended up, right? Slept through crew doing pre-flights (or they just ignored two uniformed Air Force kids), no one woke us, but they got ready for take off, stopped at the end of runway for arm/disarm and last checks, when they finally said - ok fella's, time to leave. Opened the door, we jumped out, and they took off :D We walked back to our side of the base and to be honest, not a dang person asked where we were all night. They just assumed we are in the apple orchard going through decontamination or got the dead card :D

Oh my goodness, these stories are all great! Makes me glad that all I did was ruin some spaghetti! I could have fallen asleep somewhere and woken up someplace else! LOL!
