Hi guys looking to have a positive id on this hitchhiker coral been with me about 3 years now and every year a few new colours appear on it, I think 6 difference shades at list. The last colour that developed it’s like a lilac sort of colour. It’s a bit odd for me as am not familiar with any trachy that does that, so hoping for someone that does. Thanks for looking pictures are bad, but I did the best I can to get the detail.

No filter thanks for looking

Nice piece!!!

Thanks mate, what category coral would you say it is? Am not selling but always been curious to know, if you know what I mean. It only developed the reds last year and this year the lilac

I'd say it's a nice piece for sure. As if yet, nothing to shout from the rooftops about, but coral color takes time. It may actually become one of the ones we are all talking about in a year!!

Lol am in the uk, a bit out off the game. Would you say it’s a trachy for sure?

Very nice, haven't seen one develop new colors so far. Sometimes some colors are not showing of theyre not very happy and they can start showing as things improve... Anyway always nice to see new colors popping.

And it’s been interesting to see her grow true out the years, I’ve just noticed that she actually used to have a bit of yellow b4 maybe that come back some day lol. You may be right der as it was one of my first corals and did survived most of my reefing mistakes

Looks very similar to the Trachy I just put in my tank. I am in Sydney Australia, so mine would be an Aussie specimen I expect. I am currently classifying mine as a Trachyphyllia Geoffroyi.

They could actually be sisters [emoji23] does yours have the little bubbles on the mouth too? Almost like the mix between a trachy and the OG purple monster lol

Also guys out of curiosity if this coral was on WWC website how much you recon it would go for? There’s a mate of mine that says that it will never go for more than 60$ is that true? [emoji848]

It’s a bit late Down Under to take some more photos now but I’ll do that on Sat and post them. I haven’t seen bubbles on the mouth yet but I have seen other extrusions similar to yours. Not on the mouth though. Mine has only been in the tank a couple of weeks so is still settling in.

$60 would be a reasonable price, depending on size, it would be a bargain.
