My wife and I just tore down our freshwater of 10+ years... had a fish die ammonia spiked and our whole lot school of koi angels (14 fish)... Still have one survivor in our 12g wall tank and some tetras in a smaller 6g with our shrimp. They don't get quite the attention as the blue lights do.
I’ve had a fresh water tank since I was 2... and that was 43 years ago! Got into salt after I got a job at an LFS and even brought my little 10 gallon with me to college! I’ve never not had a tank in the house and I currently have 8. 5 freshies and 3 salt
Currently have a 20 gal FW with Cardinal Tetras, Dumbo earred Guppies and Long finned Glofish Tetras. I bred guppies when I was young and sold them to the LFS. Petco was the reason for getting back in. I was in shopping for my Shih Tzu and couldn't resist the Glowfish! Then they had the $1 sale early this year so I couldn't resist jumping into SW!
My first aquarium ever was a little 10 or 20g pet store special. I think I had some Neón tetras, some form of pleco and some angels. Mind you, this was when I was 5 back in 1995. Ironically, that’s when I first saw a lion fish....and set me up to being here and building a 120dt lol
Had my first 2 gallon tank when I was 7 - I think it had a molly?
Shortly ended up with a 29 gallon.
Currently have a 29 planted that my wife allegedly takes care of. I have a pair of empty 20 gallon longs I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do with.
I had a African chiclid tank that once they all killed each other I switched to salt. I'm too far invested to ever go back to fresh. Just wish salt had the fresh prices
