I have gone through a tank crisis and it has caused discoloration of my corals. One coral stands out that has always looked healthy and still does but the color has completely changed. I would love the original color back. My lights are completely different from the tank it came from LED and mine are VHO + Metal halide. What are your experiences with this?

I think it looks better now than it did then!

FWIW - unless your tank can exactly match all parameters and lighting of the tank it came from, any and all corals will adjust to their new surroundings.

Even though I know this I still find it so fascinating and it's almost like sometimes I don't even know what I'm getting because it may change so much! Glad you think it looks better, I don't know what it is or what it should look like, it was sold to me as a candy cane but I don't think so.

I have had color shifts on fragged corals. The frag can grow out at a noticeably different color than the mother colony. And this is in the same tank, same lights and so on. A frag is a clone of the mother colony. Why in the heck should this happen?

Yes I have had lots of corals change colors a lot of it has to do with the lighting flow and the different nutrients in your tank from the sellers tank. Brightwell Aquatics makes a product called coral color I've used this a few times but it can change them colors that you might not like to you got to kind of figure out the right balance of how much you use in and how often to nail down the color you're looking for

Yes baught Coral say from Jason Fox even I can look at and see it Coral that I love on their buy it get it in my system and it doesn't even look like it was the same Coral that's one of the hard Parts with coral and buying because they can look completely different in your system from the next system

I don't know I would call them tailored exactly it just highlights the colors that are already there certain colors doll light green can change more neon greenish Red's turn a little paler I think

It is kind of weird that a candy cane Coral changing that much on you though those are pretty Infamous for being able to keep the same coloration no matter where you have them in the tank and what tank they're in so that was a little weird to me just because I've always known them to be pretty consistent coloration wise
