Well, my return pump is done. It's been on its way out for a while now, but it decided a holiday weekend was the time. So I'm trying to decide between the Sicce Syncra SDC 6.0 and the Sicce Syncra Silent 4.0 .. I never adjust the flow, the pump is either on or off. Is there a reason to shell out the extra cash for the DC pump? Heat? Noise? Both of which are a concern for me.

I dont know about the SDC, but I got the sicce silent last month, I got it for my GFO reactor, my first sicce, and I'm very impressed. Super silent, the thing is filled with washers to prevent vibrations. Its also small which I like, and no affect on the temp.

I don’t know what the price point is on those pumps. I bought a Simplicity 1600, and Simplicity 1000 Pumps. They were actually a little cheaper than the Danner- Supremes. A lot more efficient than the Danners, No 120 Volts in the water, extremely quiet. I like the auto feed delay, slow ramp up and electronic flow adjustments in 10 increments.
