I have a pump in a bucket and sensor 2 in the same bucket. That seems fine.

This is the problem....

I put sensor 1 in the tank how do I know where to set the sensor in the water so it won't overfill the tank

Sorry for bothering everyone

Sue

Do you have sensor 1 in the DT or a sump?
+1

if it is your sump you need to know what is the lowest level of water your return can work in and the highest level of water your sump can have in the return chamber without overflowing

With no sump, I think you need to find a very precise level for the float to sit at. Without a sump the margin for error is very small.

I would wait for some evaporation to happen or take a few cups of SW out the display the sensor falls at I believe 1/4 inch than kicks on do you will only need it just a bit under your main water level.

how large is the tank... i would also open the unit up and ensure that the time out is set at the lowest or lowest appropriate setting as to not overfill.

I will open up the unit and set it at the minimum if it is not up to where it should be will it keep on turning on

There's a cut off time but being in the display and not a sump means even at a minute or two you could over flow a sump gives you a little more wiggle room if something does happen (hopefully not) there's another setting on that ATO using both the float switches to maintain a more accurate water level that could be an option too.

what kind of pump are you using can it run dry if so best bet is to use both floats in display

I think it is mode b but it could kil the pump if it goes dry

If it runs dry yes that can happen when I used that kit I had the aqua lifter pump and just monitored my ATO reservoir when it got to about a gallon just filled it back up I just used one sensor in my sump had the other for back up incase of one breaking. Good thing is the aqua lifter is 15 bux lol.

I find seeing is a lot faster than reading sometimes. I do not like the advice I sometimes get "RTFM"

Thank you I watched it and it did help but the problem is my tank has a rim on it so getting it to stay is a little difficult

I liked the jbj a lot no complaints but I did switch over to the tunze ATO with the magnetic sensor mounts.. A bit easier no hanging and you can move it were ever in seconds. I've also seen folks mount the jbj sensor on a tiny mag float glass cleaner for better positioning.

You gave me a idea I have a magnet on a strip like Velcro I think I might try it
