i have had my tank for over 4 yrs, i put a new tank and transfered 40 gallons into the new 55 with new sand and since then my levels are crazy

the saliniy is 1.027
ph = 8.3
nitrate = 0
nitrite -0
phos-0.25
ammonia -0.50
KH-12
Calcium -500

i did another water chage to try and bring the salinity and the ammonia.......i did put something in the tank called prime to detoxfy the ammonia...

i was using red sea coral pro salt but i switch to IO Reef Crystals

I am so confused to figure out what to do if i can belive the hydrometer i just bought a refractor wont be here for a couple of weeks

so u will have to let the cycle ride itself out don't do water changes till its cycled, or else your just slowing the process down

Your salinity Is not far off but you want that ammonia level down to 0 before adding any livestock.

i have live stock from the other tank i had and also corals........ this is what i have for equipment i forgot to menion this tank is only been set up 2 weeks but i transfered 40 gallons from the other tank...

i have a protein skimmer,uv light filter, refugium, canister filter, wavemaker, LED lights
