Having trouble growing cheato need help. Here are my water parameters PH-8.0 Temp-74 SG-1.024 Ammonia-0ppm nitrite-0ppm nitrates 20ppm. This is a 75 gallon fowlr setup thats been going for just over a year. Everything has been great no problems with the tank I just cant get the cheato to grow. I have had the cheato in the sump for 6 months with little to no change with a 100watt plant light. Any help would be great thanks.

Is the chaeto allowed to move in your sump? I've read that some tumbling would help it grow better. And what color is your plant light?

I have a 6500k cfl from walmart that grows it great (trim every few months) all my levels are negligible. cheato moves a little mainly i just turn from time to time

Temp is a bit low. Idk if that will matter though.

Here's a thread that has a few methods. I would recommend putting a small power head in the refugium

I run reversed light cycles for the sump. 12 hours a day and I use the 5000k led par38 Philip bulbs. Cheato grows fast and when they have no room to grow, the top layer is pushed above the water surface. When this happens, cheat turns white and slow grow. I need to remove them like every 3 weeks. They don't grow unless there is room for them to grow.....
