Ok so we added a new Christmas wrasse to our tank this past sunday around 9pm, we have not see him sense. I assume this is ok for a wrasse and that I should not worry. Am I correct?

Some time is needed for the new guys, theres really no real time frame, usually in a few days they check out the tank.

I usually feed a little heavier when introducing a new fish to help it settle in. It requires more maintenance WCs but its only for a few weeks.

It has been almost a week now and we still have not seen the Christmas wrasse :( We do have a cover on the tank so I know he didn't jump out. I'm starting to think that he buried himself and then died :(

I had one that did break his fin when I first put him in the tank. I had crushed coral in that tank and I didn't know any better when I got him

A christmas wrasse can stay buried for over 3 weeks if scared. If he just arrived at the FS he may be adjusting his sleep cycle. Give it time and dont go digging around for him.

salttanklife: did yours die from the broken fin? We do have crushed coral in our tank (both fish stores that we talked to said that it would be ok) with a small corner of sand that we recently added. Our green coris wrasse prefers to bury himself in the coral over the sand
