Hawaii fish ban

During my recent lfs visit, I was told that Hawaii had put a ban on collecting fish? Has anyone heard of this happening, what do you guys think this will do to the cost of fish at our LFS. I have seen a huge rise in the cost of Hippo Tangs recently, and am scared to see what this will do for the price of yellow, and other tangs.

I have heard that fish such as yellow tangs and flame angels have been banned from collecting in Hawaii which was the main place that they were collected so there was a price increase I believe in these fish.
