Hawaii

Sure. I lived there up until a year ago on Oahu. There are some local clubs (honolulu aquarium society for one) for freshwater such but doubt you'll find many reefers there as coral possession of any kind is illegal, none of the stores sell them and nowhere ships. Some people do have stuff anyway but not many, and i cettainly wouldnt risk it personally. That said, there is some cool stuff that is legal to take. I had a tidepool tank as well as a very nice planted tank.
I didn’t know this wow! Hawaii in general I know is a pain or impossible to get many things shipped there or costs an arm and a leg but that’s what you sacrifice for living in paradise. Definitely more of a dream or vacation for many other than natives. But oh I would love to go and visit maybe one day.

Hello everyone. I am currently living in HI and was wondering if there are any local group or hobbyists to network with.
Welcome! Just moved here in March to kailua, definitely smaller community than mainland. Not a tank owner anymore but had over 500 gallons total before. You can own some soft corals like zoas privately collected /traded but not the selection you're used to. Trying to get my feet wet again and maybe back to servicing.

I was just in Kailua last week. My wife and I moved from kailua to south carolina last year and were back for a couple weeks visiting friends and family.
